*Free English Qur’ans*
In light of MSA West, it has come to my attention that many brothers or sisters do not have an English Qur’an. For us as Muslims, we have to strive to understand the meaning of the Qur’an, and this is not possible if we do not read the Qur’an in a language we understand. So please, for anyone who does not have an English Qur’an and would like a copy, please email me at kutibah@gmail.com and insha’Allah I will get you a copy ASAP.

As’Salaam wa Alaikum wa RahmatAllahi wa Barakato,
Insha’Allah all of you are in a high state of iman for the beautiful month of Ramadan. The Islamic Community Fund at UCLA, an organization created to establish a masjid for Muslims at UCLA and its community, invites you to our first fundraiser on September 7th on Labor Day at the UCLA Ackerman Grand Ballroom. Insha’Allah we will be having Shaykh Suhaib Webb share a lecture on “A Practical Guide to the Last 10 Days of Ramadan.” We will also be serving delicious Persian food (vegetarian option available). We highly encourage you to attend and help support the effort to build a masjid near UCLA. Jazakkallah Khair.

* Sponsor an Iftar *
Would you like to seek the pleasure of Allah (swt)?
Sponsor an Iftar
The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) is reported to have said: ”Whosoever fasted in Ramadan and then followed up with six fasting days of Shawwal, it is like fasting every day.”
SubhanAllah, this year we as students have been given the blessing to spend the month of Ramadan with our families, however in the beginning of Shawwal, we would like to have iftars for six days with our brothers and sisters in the MSA.
We are hoping that you and your families will contribute by sponsoring one of the six iftars we will be serving during week 1 and 2 for your Muslim brothers and sisters here at UCLA. The rewards for feeding one person who is fasting are immense… just imagine the rewards of feeding an entire MSA!
Please email Afifa: afifab@ucla.edu
if you are interested in sponsoring an iftar
Please Note: You can either donate money directly and we will make food arrangements, or you can donate the food.
MSA UCLA iftars average about 100 attendees, which costs about $600.
You do no have to cover the full cost in order to sponsor, donate whatever is feasible.
